My name is Francesco, and I am a licensed tour guide with a Neapolitan heart and a Florentine home. My journey to this profession—and to this city—has been shaped by years of study, curiosity, and a genuine love for discovering the stories behind the places we live in. I was born and raised in Naples, a city that is impossible to forget once you have walked through it. After finishing my studies in history and art, I decided it was time to explore beyond southern Italy. My first stop was Austria, where I continued my academic path. Living there opened my eyes to a different way of understanding culture—one that valued precision, discipline, and an elegant sense of order. I learned German, attended lectures, and spent countless afternoons in museums, absorbing the atmosphere of cities like Vienna, where music, philosophy, and art coexist with a quiet grace that is very different from the vibrant chaos of Naples. From Austria, my path led me to Scotland, another world entirely. There, surrounded by dramatic landscapes, medieval castles, windswept coastlines, and warm-hearted people, I felt a different kind of inspiration. Scotland taught me to appreciate storytelling in a new way—its legends, its folklore, its deep connection to memory and tradition. It was a place where history felt alive in the scenery itself, and where I learned how much a guide can influence the way visitors connect with a place. Eventually, ten years ago, my compass pointed me toward Florence, a city I had visited many times but never truly known. I arrived with the intention of staying only a short time—just long enough to complete a course, improve my studies, and enjoy the Tuscan lifestyle. But Florence had other plans for me. What was supposed to be a temporary stay became a permanent love story. From the moment I settled here, I immersed myself in studying the city. Florence is small enough to explore on foot but immense in cultural depth. I spent years walking its streets at different times of day, learning not only its history but its rhythms, its secrets, its lesser-known corners. I visited museums over and over again, not just to memorize dates or names, but to understand the artistic and human stories behind every masterpiece. Working as a guide in Florence has been the most natural outcome of my journey.
